Salmela Solutions is a boutique IT consultancy with deep enterprise muscle and a startup mindset. We pick projects we believe in and stay with them until they ship — and beyond.
Salmela Solutions is focused on the engine room of regulated software: backend APIs, data models, applied cryptography, blockchain integration, and the Linux infrastructure that keeps it running. Our principal has 26+ years of hands-on backend engineering and solution-architecture experience across Unix/Linux systems, secure data platforms, and Master Data Management.
Tibco EBX® is one of the deepest specialties — full-cycle implementations, EBX 5 to 6 upgrades, custom Java add-ons, and CI/CD automation around the EBX runtime. Beyond MDM, the same person is currently CTO of a deep-tech venture in regulated industrial documentation, which keeps the security and compliance thinking sharp.
Around that core sits a small team: a frontend designer–developer working in Figma and Vite + Vue, and an in-house video producer for marketing and explainer content. Salmela Solutions stays small on purpose — it lets us deliver senior work without the overhead.
No marketing-speak — these are the things our customers tell us they value, and the things we hold ourselves to.
Sometimes the answer is decades-proven Linux and a relational database. Sometimes it is post-quantum cryptography or a tamper-evident ledger. We pick what fits the problem — no fashion, no nostalgia.
Every system we deliver assumes someone will ask "why?" and "by whom?" — auditors, regulators, future engineers, your CTO. Tamper-evident logs and clean documentation are not optional.
Several of our customers have stayed with us for 5+ years across multiple projects. We treat your codebase like we will be reading it a decade from now — because we probably will.
When a project carries compliance weight — NIST CSF mapping, or NIS2-, DORA-, or PED-driven obligations — those concerns are baked into the architecture from the start. We are careful not to overstate which regulations directly mandate your product; that is your compliance assessment, not a sales claim of ours.
No theatrics, no overpromising. We say what we will deliver, deliver it, and explain plainly when something has to change. Most customers find that refreshing.
You always work directly with the people who do the work. No layers, no junior bait-and-switch. Just a tight crew that ships.

Multiple long-running EBX engagements for global manufacturers, security-product makers, materials-handling specialists, banks, insurance carriers, public-sector regional health, and food producers. Roles ranged from technical consultant and developer to advisory.
Multiple long-running engagements in card-payments and fraud-prevention tooling — application-specialist work, fraud-system installation and configuration, end-to-end testing, and Python-based test automation against authorization and clearing platforms.
Industrial workloads where the audit trail and the documentation matter as much as the calculation itself. Architecture and backend roles across verification platforms, calculation and automation services for industrial workflows, and on-site device integrations using RFID and serial inputs.
Full ERP work for farms and slaughterhouses, including integration with authority databases and logistics ERPs, plus multi-language deployment. End-to-end architecture and long-running development role.
NFC reader/writer solutions, mobile apps for digital content delivery via NFC tags, and cloud-side authentication services for consumer-product manufacturers.
Real-time information distribution platform connecting property buyers, sellers, renters, and agents — Linux, Python, blockchain integration, and a custom messaging-bot notification layer. CTO role for the parent venture.
